Obedience Training

Correcting your dog's problem behaviors is only a phone call away. Your companion needs and thrives on having the knowledge to of value in your life--we can help. Obedience training allows your companion to truly share your life with you because it gives your dog the needed boundaries that they do not have otherwise. Robert Forto, PhD oversees all of the training classes taught at Denver Dog Works and North Metro Animal Hospital then you are sent home with "homework" until your next lesson in a week.

We offer four different obedience programs:  one-on-one lessons and drop-in group classes, Individual or one-one-lessons, group classes, or our most popular--Board and Train.

Private Training and Drop In Group Classes

In this program you and your companion are taught the basic obedience commands with one of our certified trainers. After your companion has mastered the basic commands and you and your trainer feel comfortable, we set you up for our drop-in group classes where your companion is socialized with other dogs while refining the commands. Upon successful completion of this program a diploma is issued to your dog indicating that he is a graduate.

Group classes

Group classes are held once a week at our school on Evans Ave and at North Metro Animal Hospital and are limited in size due to space constraints. In our group classes we "teach" you how to train your dog during an eight week class that meets for one hour. One of our certified trainers "teaches" you commands for your dog each week and it is up to you to practice your "homework" until the next class. These classes are great for puppy socialization, leash work, new dog owners, etc. but we should note that if your dog is having serious behavioral problems this might not be the program for you. As always we offer a free evaluation of your dog before we recommend any program.

Note: All group classes require a minimum enrollment of four dogs. If a group class can not be filled you will be rescheduled for the next upcoming group or you will receive semi-private lessons and the number of classes will be abbreviated. We will also offer you a substantial discount if you bring a friend!
